To Aleksandrs: According information (scan copies exist) received from the resouce VALMIERAS BIBLIOTĒKA PIEAUGUŠO APKALPOŠANAS NODAĻAS VADĪTĀJA, from the 1909 till 1914 Janis studied as school teacher (German language) in Vologda where he was acquanted with Lidia Berseneva. L. Berseneva was noblewoman, her father Nikolai Pavlovich Bersenev (alumnus from Moscow Theological Academy) had been working as teacher of Literuture in Vologda Religiuos School. In 1915 Lidia together with Janis went to Nikolaev. I cannot write that their relations had been registered only because of the fact that i have not found the confirmation from the church - but in Valmiers' material was metioned that in Odessa 1919 Janis had registered his divorce with Lidia ( Lidia with dels Vadims stay in Nikolaev). I suppose that archive materials (either from Nikolaev or from Odessa) are to confirm my information. Unfortunaterly it is diificult to find right contact details for such requests. If you have any ideas please forward them to me (veklor@yandex.ru).Moreover i'm sure you are aware about Abgara Mikelson - in my archives there are a lot of letters from Abgaraq to Irina Berseneva ( daughter of Vadims). Abgara recognized Irina as grandchild of Janis.
